HerStory is a literary initiative and fee-based curated cohort for women of color that provides a blueprint to transform your ideas into published manuscripts.

Members of each cohort are carefully selected from a pool of applicants to create a dynamic group of women who will motivate, inspire and work alongside each other to reach their goals, all while building a unique sisterhood that uplifts and empowers the success of their fellow authors.

This is about creating a safe space for you to tell your truth—and the tools to make sure you are heard.

THE MISSION

HerStory is a US-based literary initiative that exists to guarantee representation of women of color as published authors while empowering them to document their narratives and create passive streams of income.

THE PROCESS

HerStory is a life-changing journey structured to ensure authors get across the finish line and produce an industry standard work. New members are accepted to participate in a high-powered author cadre each quarter.

THE WORK

Our team has condensed over thirty years of writing and marketing strategy to ensure that each participant has access to the most effective methods to be an author and entrepreneur.

The program includes 6 intensive modules to guide authors through 13th & Joan’s 4 Pillars of Publishing—a process that yields reliable results for each of our authors.

The HerStory Literary Initiative was established by Celebrity Ghostwriter, Branding and Book Publishing Expert, Ardre Orie.

As the CEO of 13th & Joan Publishing House, Orie recognized a tremendous deficit in the published works for women of color and vowed to create a home for the countless stories that go untold, forcing a lack of representation in the literary marketplace.

HerStory is a high-impact, low-risk publishing initiative that empowers participants to complete the process of writing their manuscript and give them the guidance that gets them ready to publish and distribute their books for national and international markets.
